The Hispanic Society of Philosophical Anthropology meets at UIC Barcelona from 30 September on the theme Homo pictor: Art, Imagination and Creation. The phrase is Hans Jonas's, from 1961. The timing is nobody's accident, and the discipline doing the convening barely exists in English.
Between the end of September and the middle of December, philosophers meet in Los Angeles, Columbus, Nijmegen, Evanston, Oxford, Durham and Athens. Read together rather than as a list, the programme says something specific: the question of what there is has stopped belonging to one tradition.

The thirty-first annual meeting of the North American Sartre Society will be held online on 23-24 October 2026. Its theme carries existentialism's most familiar concepts — bad faith, the look, freedom and situation — into the digital, this time among avatars and algorithms.
Oxford's philosophy conference for graduate students meets for the thirtieth time on 13 and 14 November. The keynote speakers are David Chalmers, Monima Chadha and Rob Simpson. One detail of the design separates it from the ordinary student gathering: every paper draws a reply from an Oxford faculty member.
